A chronological series about the 18-month chapter where Matt & Linda lived on a classic motor yacht in Florida.
Which sounds a little like a boating story.
And sure, technically, there was a boat.
But this series is really about reinvention, risk, freedom, marriage, money, identity, and what it looks like to stop drifting through your next chapter like life’s going to sort itself out while you scroll in stretchy pants.
Every episode has a story you can feel, and a lesson you can steal.
You do not need a boat to use these lessons.
You just need a life you want to build on purpose.
Episodes (table of contents)
Episode 1: The Itch
The Boat Idea Would Not Shut Up
A story about the nudge that would not leave us alone, and what happens when a big life decision keeps showing up until you finally pay attention. This episode is about intuition, intentional living, and the first spark of reinvention.
Episode 2: The Filter
The Boat That Was Too Big (But Too Right)
We had rules. Then life showed up with notes. This episode is about knowing what matters, letting go of rigid filters, and realizing the right next chapter can still look a little ridiculous at first glance.
Episode 3: The Planks
Ten Months of Fixing, Replacing, and Wallet Regret
This is the part where the dream starts sending invoices. A story about slow progress, financial tradeoffs, and what personal reinvention really costs when you are building a new life instead of just talking about one.
Episode 4: The Crossing
Crossing into the Keys: When Paradise Made Us Earn It
We thought the hard part was over. Then we turned left. This episode is about risk, resistance, and what happens when the life you want asks for one last hard crossing before it lets you in.
Episode 5: The Floating Neighborhood
Boot Key Harbor: Pirates, Dreamers, and Drunkards, Oh My
We thought we were arriving in paradise. Turns out we were also moving into a floating neighborhood full of colorful characters, unwritten rules, harbor radio, and a few friendships that lasted far beyond the boat. This episode is about belonging, community, and discovering that every new chapter comes with people.
Episode 6: Captain Mode
Captain Mode: Adventure Is Fun Until Somebody Has to Be in Charge
We thought living on a boat meant freedom, sunsets, and good stories. It also meant somebody had to hear the radio differently, check the lines, and stay steady when the weather turned. This episode is about responsibility, leadership, and the invisible mental load that comes with intentional living.
Episode 7: The Relationship Test
Marriage in a Floating Condo
Living on a boat sounds romantic until there is nowhere to hide, no room to cool off, and every little stressor gets louder. This episode is about marriage, communication, grace, and what life afloat revealed about real partnership.
Episode 8: The Pivot
Not Every Brave Decision Is About Staying
After eighteen months aboard, Matt & Linda face the hardest kind of decision: leaving something they still love. Boat tired, soul full, and a sweaty summer in the Keys later, the Lutzes start scheming again. This is the story of PBSD, the island of misfit dreams, and why selling Slow Ride was one of the bravest things they did.
Episode 9: The Proof
What the Boat Gave Us (Besides Tools and Trauma)
The finale. Matt & Linda walk away from Slow Ride when everything is finally working — free beer on the dock, dinghy parades to the sandbar, people they will know for the rest of their lives. This is the real inventory of what eighteen months on the water actually gave them. And why, at the moment of this writing, they are dreaming about doing it again. You know what happens when the Lutzes start dreaming.

No 2 The Quo
Before We Had the Framework, We Had the Stories
We didn’t start No 2 The Quo with a tidy little life design model and a color-coded spreadsheet.
Shocking, I know.
We started with a few lived decisions. Big ones. Messy ones. The kind where you say, “This is probably fine,” while quietly wondering if you have lost your entire mind.
These three stories explain how we got here before we had the words Declaration of Intendependence™ to describe what we were doing.
These are the origin stories behind No 2 The Quo.
